Current Focus

My ongoing research centers on a comprehensive genomic analysis of shorebirds, namely Rostratula benghalensis, Metopidius indicus, and Hydrophasianus chirurgus. With a specific emphasis on elucidating population structure and regional differentiation among monogamous and polyandrous species, through the examination of genetic and ecological data, my objective is to unveil the intricate dynamics and distinctive adaptations inherent in these avian populations. The findings from this study are anticipated to provide valuable insights for the conservation and management of shorebirds within the diverse ecosystems of India.
